BPOM Assures All Domestically Made COVID Vaccines are Halal
Highlights: The Head of the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM), Penny K. Lukito, has announced that all three Indonesian manufacturers of COVID-19 vaccines have obtained halal certificates from the relevant authority. The three vaccines, IndoVac, InaVac, and the mRNA vaccine produced by PT Etana, have all been certified as halal. IndoVac is produced by PT Bio Farma in collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), while InaVac is produced by PT Biotis Pharmaceutical Indonesia in collaboration with Airlangga University. The mRNA vaccine produced by PT Etana has not yet been trademarked.
