Pharmaniaga, and Ronnsi Pharma Partnership to Commercialize Malaysia’s First Halal Blood Anti-coagulant
Highlights: Pharmaniaga Berhad, a leading pharmaceutical group in Malaysia, has partnered with China’s Suzhou Ronnsi Pharma Co., Ltd. to distribute a halal ovine (sheep) anticoagulant in Malaysia. The anticoagulant (Ovine enoxaprin) is already certified as halal in Indonesia and Hong Kong, and Pharmaniaga plans to apply for halal certification from JAKIM. The certification process is expected to be completed by 2024. The demand for this anticoagulant has increased due to the rise of COVID-19 cases over the last two years. IQVIA Data 2021 predicts that the Malaysian anti-coagulant market will reach 8 million dosage units by 2026, indicating potential for addressing unmet demands for halal ovine anti-coagulant.
