Laws, Regulations, and/or Policies: Although Malaysia currently has no specific statute on Halal certification, they have taken the lead in pursuing halal certification for pharmaceutical items and is seeking a comprehensive halal ecosystem in the country through its Halal Industry Master Plan HIMP2030.
Halal Certifying Bodies: The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) is the government agency that is responsible for the issue of halal certification and monitor the preservation of compliance of Halal Certification.

Requirements for Halal Pharmaceutical Certification
The basic requirements to get certified are outlined in the Malaysian Standard of Halal Pharmaceuticals (MS2424).
