Saudi Awards Halal Certificates to More Than 219 Facilities
Highlights: Saudi Arabia has granted halal certificates to over 219 facilities through the Halal Center of the Health Sector Transformation Program, a part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Over 62 entities are authorized to issue these certificates, and 13 initiatives are working to bolster Saudi Arabia’s position in the halal economy. The Halal Center issues certificates, conducts research to improve product quality control, and offers training programs to ensure products adhere to Islamic law and do not contain prohibited ingredients. This aligns with the Health Sector Transformation program’s objectives to enhance health safety measures.
