UAE’s Prime Healthcare Wants to Make a Breakthrough into Halal Pharmaceuticals
Highlights: In 2022, Prime, a UAE-based healthcare company, entered into a partnership with Pharmaniaga Partners, a prominent name in the industry from Malaysia. Under the agreement, Prime has gained the rights to register, import, market, sell, and distribute pharmaceutical products from PMB, a Pharmaniaga-owned entity. PMB is a halal-certified manufacturing plant by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia and produces over 120 pharmaceutical products, with more than 95 of them already certified as halal. The remaining products are in the process of obtaining the same certification. The Managing Director of Pharmaniaga Group, Datuk Zulkarnain Md Europe, stated that Dubai will serve as the company’s base to introduce their products to other markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
