Malaysia’s Pharmaniaga to make pneumococcal vaccine, will seek JAKIM halal certification
Highlights: Pharmaniaga has entered into an agreement with the Serum Institute of India to manufacture a pneumococcal vaccine in Malaysia. The vaccine is designed to protect against illnesses caused by the streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria, primarily in children. Pharmaniaga’s subsidiary, Pharmaniaga Lifescience (PLS), will market, distribute and sell the product exclusively in Malaysia, and it will be halal certified by JAKIM. Pharmaniaga and PLS already have a long list of products that are halal-certified, with PLS having 14 and Pharmaniaga having 76 such products.
